A weekend at the Grampians

The whole family spent the weekend of 6th and 7th of October at the Grampians National Park, about 4 hours' drive from home. It is situated near the town of Ararat, on the upper west half of Melbourne. It was great fun, celebrating Ning's birthday on October 5th. She turned 7 this year. We lived in an extended caravan at a caravan park near Hall's Gap, the tourist centre of the Grampians. Nadim weren't with us 'coz he had to finish off his homework. Too bad.. ;p

On the way to the Grampians. We stopped by opposite this vast meadow of canolas. The flowers are processed to make canola oil. They were everywhere-- loads of canolas all the way to the left and right of the road.

On that Saturday night; we were having dinner and then cake.

This was hell. We were at the summit of Mt. William, the highest peak on the Southern Grampians. We were walking in the rain and hail all the way, I repeat, all the way-- that was about one hour to the top and back down. It was 10.50am in the morning, I couldn't feel my hands. Everything was wet and cold to the bone. But nevertheless, we made it! Yeah!

This was a view from the caravan entrance, on that Sunday afternoon. I was doing some BBQ for lunch. Haidar was helping me out.

Haidar and Adila were preparing some satay stick in the kitchen for the BBQ at the front.
